Yan Sibarang Tandiele Highlights Government's Strategy to Support Smart Machine and Robotics Ecosystem Development

Jakarta, INTI - The Director of Machinery and Equipment at the Indonesian Ministry of Industry, Yan Sibarang Tandiele, has outlined the government's strategy to support the development of a Smart Machine and Robotics ecosystem in Indonesia. Speaking at the Business Forum on "Building the Ecosystem for Smart Manufacturing, Robotics, and Automation," held at JI EXPO Jakarta, Yan emphasized the government's commitment to creating a conducive environment that promotes the adoption and innovation of these technologies.

Yan explained that the government's strategy focuses on several key areas, including:

  1. Technology Infrastructure Development: One of the government's primary focuses is developing the technological infrastructure that supports the adoption of Smart Machine and Robotics. This includes the development of high-speed internet networks, data centers, and cloud infrastructure that enable real-time data integration and analysis.

In addition, the government is encouraging the development of industrial zones equipped with advanced technological facilities, such as innovation labs, training centers, and business incubators. These industrial zones are expected to become hubs for innovation and technology development in Smart Machine and Robotics in Indonesia.

  1. Regulatory Support for Innovation: The government is also committed to creating regulations that support innovation and the adoption of Smart Machine and Robotics. This includes removing unnecessary regulatory barriers, simplifying licensing processes, and providing incentives for companies adopting these technologies.

Moreover, the government is encouraging industry standards that prioritize safety and security in using these technologies. These standards are expected to build trust among industry players in adopting Smart Machine and Robotics.

  1. Human Resource Development: A key focus in developing the Smart Machine and Robotics ecosystem is improving workforce skills. The government, through the Ministry of Industry, has launched various training and vocational education programs designed to create a workforce ready to face the challenges of Industry 4.0.

These programs include technical training in operating and maintaining Smart Machine and Robotics, as well as management training to ensure these technologies can be integrated with existing business processes. Additionally, the government is encouraging collaboration with educational institutions to develop curricula that align with industry needs.

Encouraging Partnerships between Government, Private Sector, and Academia: Yan also emphasized the importance of partnerships between the government, private sector, and educational institutions in developing the Smart Machine and Robotics ecosystem. These partnerships are crucial to ensure that innovation and adoption of these technologies are well-executed and to create an ecosystem that supports industry growth in Indonesia.

The government acts as a facilitator in these partnerships, providing supportive regulations and incentives while encouraging dialogue among all stakeholders. Meanwhile, the private sector and educational institutions are expected to play a role in developing and implementing Smart Machine and Robotics technologies

The development of the Smart Machine and Robotics ecosystem is one of the main strategies that must be implemented by Indonesia to accelerate industrial transformation towards Industry 4.0. With adequate technological infrastructure, regulations that support innovation, and the development of skilled human resources, Indonesia has a significant opportunity to become a major player in the global industry.

However, the success of this strategy relies heavily on the commitment and collaboration between the government, private sector, and academia. If all parties can work together effectively, Indonesia will be able to overcome the challenges of Industry 4.0 and achieve sustainable economic growth.
