Wamen Nezar Patria: Kominfo Open to Collaboration with ADB

Jakarta, INTI - The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology is open to collaborating with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to support the growth of digital startups in Indonesia.

Deputy Minister of Communication and Information Technology Nezar Patria stated that the collaboration is aimed at developing the digital startup ecosystem and providing support for the implementation of the Digital Startup 1000 Program.

"In essence, Kominfo is open to collaborating to support the growth of these startups," he said after receiving a visit from the ADB Team at the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology Office, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (24/04/2024).

Wamen Nezar Patria stated that in this meeting, the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology is hoping for support for the development of digital startups in Indonesia.

"ADB appreciates what has been done by the Digital Startup 1000 Movement. They also shared about what they have done with several higher education institutions in Indonesia," he revealed.

According to Wamenkominfo, there are several ongoing collaborations between ADB and Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Institut Tekonologi Bandung (ITB), and Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB).

"ADB is involved in building Science Techno Parks at several universities in Indonesia. We hope that what ADB has done with universities can collaborate with the Digital Startup 1000 Movement initiated by Kominfo," he explained.

In the meeting, Wamenkominfo Nezar Patria was accompanied by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology Mira Tayyiba, the Secretary of the Directorate General of Informatics Applications I Nyoman Adhiarna, and the Head of the International Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology Ichwan Makmur Nasution.

Meanwhile, the ADB team included Director of Human and Social Development ADB Sector Group Karin Schelzig, Senior Sector Director Ayako Inagaki, Principal Education Specialist Shanti Jagannathan, Principal Social Sector Specialist Fook Yen Chong, and Senior Project Officer Education Sutarum Wiryono.
