Jakarta, INTI - During the FGD held at JI EXPO on August 12, 2024, Malik Khidir, Chairman of the Indonesian Industrial Robot Association (ASRII), emphasized the importance of human resource competency development and certification to support the implementation of Industry 4.0 in Indonesia. According to Malik, the digital transformation in the industrial sector will not succeed without the support of competent and certified workforce according to national and international standards.
Malik explained that ASRII has initiated various academy and certification programs to prepare Indonesian workers to face the Industry 4.0 era. These programs include training with national standards (SKKNI) as well as international standards in collaboration with leading certification institutions. "We want to ensure that our workforce has globally recognized competencies so that they are ready to compete in the international market," Malik stated.
Additionally, ASRII is focusing on the development of local technology, particularly smart machines and robotic automation, which can be applied across various industrial sectors, such as automotive, logistics, and medical industries. Malik emphasized that this technology is designed to address the specific needs of industries in Indonesia, thereby increasing operational efficiency and global competitiveness. "The development of local technology is crucial to ensure that we are not just consumers of technology but also independent producers," Malik stressed.
Besides technology development, Malik also highlighted the importance of technology benchmarking with advanced countries such as South Korea and Germany. Through benchmarking programs, ASRII hopes to adopt best practices from these countries and apply them in Indonesia. "We must learn from the best to become the best," he remarked.
Malik also called on all parties, including the government and private sectors, to support efforts to improve competency and certification. He believes that support from various stakeholders is crucial to creating a conducive ecosystem for the development of smart manufacturing and robotics in Indonesia. "It is our collective responsibility to ensure that Indonesia does not lag behind in this industrial revolution," Malik concluded.
In his closing remarks, Malik emphasized that certification is not just about fulfilling formal requirements but also about creating a workforce that can quickly adapt to technological changes. "Competent workers are the key to the success of our industrial transformation," he closed.
