Jakarta, INTI – The Ministry of Industry successfully hosted a forum connecting technology startups with the manufacturing industry in Indonesia, titled Tech Link Summit 2024. The event, held from July 18-20, 2024, officially concluded on Saturday (July 20), marking a new chapter in accelerating industrial technology transformation in Indonesia.

Launch of Startup4Industry Investment Summit 2024

The Director General of Small, Medium, and Various Industries, Reni Yanita, stated that as a form of continued support for the potential of startups, the event's closing was marked by the launch of the Startup4Industry Investment Summit 2024. “The Startup4Industry Investment Summit 2024 is a forum to connect potential technology startups with investors to promote the sustainability of startup innovation,” explained Reni in her statement in Jakarta, Sunday (July 21).

The Startup4Industry Investment Summit 2024 will be held on October 8, 2024. The aim of the program is to create a much larger positive multiplier effect on the development of tech startups in Indonesia. This program is also expected to become an accelerator for technology transformation in Indonesia. The forum will bring together selected startups from the Startup4Industry program with potential investors from both domestic and international backgrounds. “The goal is to open inclusive funding opportunities for startups, accelerate their growth, and drive innovation in the industrial sector,” she added.

Opportunities and Collaboration at the Startup4Industry Investment Summit 2024

The Startup4Industry Investment Summit 2024 is expected to provide a platform for startups to present their technological solutions to investors, gain valuable feedback, and establish strategic partnerships. “We hope this program can be a catalyst for sustainable growth and innovation in the industrial sector,” said Reni.

Achievements of Tech Link Summit 2024

The Director General of IKMA shared several important notes on the implementation of Tech Link Summit 2024. She emphasized the importance of a comprehensive evaluation of Tech Link Summit 2024 as the key to measuring the event's real impact and formulating more effective strategies for Tech Link Summit 2025. “This is also the Ministry of Industry’s commitment to continuously encourage collaboration between startups and industry players,” Reni added.

Tech Link Summit 2024 was not just a meeting point for startups and industry players but also a cross-sector collaboration platform. The involvement of the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration, as well as the National Cyber and Encryption Agency (BSSN), demonstrates the government’s seriousness in promoting technological transformation across all layers of society and economic sectors. “This event successfully brought together dozens of startups and industry players, opened mutually beneficial collaboration opportunities, and strengthened Indonesia's inclusive startup ecosystem,” she added.

The Role of Startup4Industry in the Technology Ecosystem

The Director of Metal, Machinery, Electronics, and Transportation Equipment IKM, Dini Hanggandari, stated that the Startup4Industry program has consistently served as a means to bridge the industry's needs with technological solutions from startups. “Through Startup4Industry, we not only connect startups with potential markets but also open access to local and global investors. This is a concrete step to strengthen the startup ecosystem in Indonesia,” explained Dini.

Enthusiasm and Network Expansion

The Chairman of the Startup for Industry Indonesia Association (Starfindo), Lukas Dedy Setiawan, said that the event received high enthusiasm from both startups and industry players. “A total of 752 people visited this event, and 71 business meetings were established,” he said.

Dedy also explained that Starfindo confirmed the expansion of its association network to Central Sulawesi and East Java by establishing partnerships with local drivers. This network expansion aims to strengthen the ecosystem of technological solutions for the manufacturing industry throughout Indonesia.
