INTI- Jakarta, June 19, 2023 - The launch of the Republic of Indonesia's SATRIA-1 satellite from Florida, United States, has been successfully accomplished. Hary Budiarto, the Head of Human Resources Research and Development Agency at the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, stated that the launch of SATRIA-1 would be a historic milestone for Indonesia in accelerating digital transformation.
"SATRIA-1 will empower digital champions from Aceh to Papua. We are grateful for the abundant grace of the Almighty God for granting us permission and making SATRIA-1 launch from Florida, United States, today," he expressed during the Live Viewing of SATRIA-1 Launch at Skyworld TMII in East Jakarta on Monday.

Addressing the students present at the event, he shared the objectives behind the satellite launch.
"In the past, we launched the Palapa Satellite when I was still in elementary school, just like the younger students here witnessing the satellite launch. The Palapa Satellite aimed to unite the Indonesian nation from Aceh to Papua," he explained.
Budiarto commended all parties involved in the successful launch of the SATRIA-1 satellite.
"On behalf of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, I express my gratitude to all those who have worked tirelessly to ensure internet access at public service locations through the presence of SATRIA-1. In particular, we would like to thank Acting Minister of Communication and Informatics, Professor Mahfud MD, for his support in the continued development of digital infrastructure," he stated.
The Ministry of Communication and Informatics also appreciated the contributions of other government institutions, including the Ministry of Finance and the National Development Planning Agency, for processing and approving the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project for SATRIA-1.
"We would also like to express our gratitude to PT PSN as the implementing agency of the SATRIA-1 PPP project and its partners, Thales Alenia Space, and SpaceX," he added.
