INTI,- A forum on the strengthening of the manufacturing ecosystem by accelerating Industry 4.0 was held in Hannover, Germany, on April 18th, 2023. At the event, Ali Murtopo Simbolon, Deputy of Coordination of Trade and Industry at the Ministry of Coordinating Economic Affairs, stated that Indonesia's economic growth in 2022 is projected to reach 5.3%, the highest in the last decade, due to its economic transformation. This transformation has been supported by national policies, such as the implementation of the Job Creation Law, which simplifies regulatory procedures, business ease, and risk-based licensing procedures through the Online Single Submission system. Additionally, he said that the roadmap of Making Indonesia 4.0 offers opportunities for the revitalization of Indonesia's manufacturing industry to become one of the ten largest economies in the world.
Muhamad Fajrin Rasyid, Director of Digital Business at PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, also presented at the event and said that Indonesia's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is expected to increase 1.5 times to USD 1.6 trillion between 2020-2030. Moreover, according to the Indonesia Digital Economic (IDE), the country's digital economy has the potential to grow eightfold by 2030. Telkom, through its more than 170,000 fiber optic networks, 200,000 BTS, 30,000 towers, and more than 30 data centers, is playing an active role in the development of the national economy through digital economy initiatives.
Daniel Suryananta, Director of PT Akebono Brake Astra Indonesia, spoke about how his company has implemented digital production and Industry 4.0 by converting all of their devices to digital and creating a digital map that covers everything from receiving orders from customers to issuing invoices. As a joint venture between Indonesia and Japan, PT Akebono Brake Astra Indonesia is the largest automotive component block-brick producer in Indonesia, specializing in brake pads and pedals. He added that the company aims to achieve level 4, or smart manufacturing, by 2026.
Lastly, Senior Director Factory Automation Sales Asia-Pacific, Siemens AG Factory Sascha Maennl spoke at the event and stated that Siemens had implemented the process of industrial revolution since its founding. Siemens believes that digital transformation requires a focus on three aspects: people, processes, and technology. Siemens currently runs three business lines, including factory acceleration, solution frameworks, and measuring technology. Moreover, the company is developing Printed Circuit Board (PCB) cutting machine technology with artificial intelligence-based algorithms that can be developed by users from a range of scales.***Hans.
