INTI,- President Joko Widodo of Indonesia began his second day in Hannover with a morning stroll, greeting Indonesian citizens around the hotel where he stayed. The visit, as reported by the official press release, was aimed at connecting with Indonesian communities abroad.
Accompanied by Minister of State-owned Enterprises, Erick Thohir, Investment Minister/Head of BKPM, Bahlil Lahadalia, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, and Indonesian Ambassador to Germany, Arif Havas Oegroseno, President Jokowi was seen leaving the hotel at around 10:40 local time.
The President appeared to enjoy his morning walk in the cool spring air. During his stroll, he greeted several Indonesian citizens and engaged in brief conversations with them. After a short while, the President returned to his hotel.
Later in the day, President Jokowi was scheduled to attend a business meeting with several German companies. He and First Lady Ibu Iriana were also expected to visit Hannover City Hall to sign the State Capital Golden Book.
Following that, President Jokowi was set to attend the opening ceremony of Hannover Messe 2023 alongside German Chancellor Olaf Scholz at the Hannover Congress Centrum (HCC).
In the evening, the Indonesian President was scheduled to attend a bilateral meeting with Chancellor Scholz at the Lower Saxony Government Guesthouse, followed by a dinner reception.
The visit was expected to strengthen the diplomatic and economic ties between Indonesia and Germany, and showcase Indonesia's potential as a destination for foreign investments.
