Jakarta,WISATA – As part of the 6th Indonesia Internet Expo & Summit (IIXS) at JI-EXPO Kemayoran, Jakarta, one of the highly anticipated panel sessions is titled "National Strategy to Address Cyber Threats: Protecting Data, Safeguarding the Nation." This session will feature prominent experts in the field, including Randy Maulana Akbar (VP Building Management Telkom), Andi Budimansyah (Chairman of IDSIRTII/CC), Taufik Arfianto (Director of Digital Economy Protection BSSN), and Artiy A. Syahlan (Expert Staff of BAKTI Kominfo).

The Importance of a National Strategy to Address Cyber Threats

In this digital era, cyber threats are becoming increasingly complex and dangerous. Data from the National Cyber and Encryption Agency (BSSN) shows that cyber attacks in Indonesia have increased by 40% over the past two years. These threats affect not only individuals and companies but also national security. Therefore, a robust national strategy is necessary to protect data and safeguard the nation from cyber threats.

Domestic Cyber Industry Capabilities

The domestic cyber industry in Indonesia continues to grow to meet these challenges. According to a report from the Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association (APJII), the cybersecurity industry in Indonesia grew by 30% in 2023. This growth reflects the increasing awareness and investment in cybersecurity technology by both the public and private sectors. With these capabilities, Indonesia is ready to face various emerging cyber threats.

Anticipated Panel Discussion

In this panel session, the speakers will discuss several critical topics related to the national strategy for addressing cyber threats, including:

  1. Implementation of Cybersecurity Policies: How cybersecurity policies are implemented and the challenges faced in their execution.
  2. Role of BSSN and IDSIRTII/CC: As the primary institutions in cybersecurity, BSSN and IDSIRTII/CC will share their experiences in handling cyber threats and protecting critical infrastructure.
  3. Collaboration between Government and Industry: The importance of cooperation between the government and industry players in addressing cyber threats and enhancing national security.
  4. Innovation in Cybersecurity: Analysis of the capabilities of the domestic cyber industry and how technological innovation can be utilized to protect data and infrastructure.

Challenges and Opportunities

While there are many opportunities in developing the domestic cybersecurity industry, several challenges still need to be addressed. One of these is the need for significant investment to build adequate security infrastructure. Additionally, enhancing workforce skills is a crucial factor in supporting the growth of this industry. However, with strong policy support and good collaboration between the government and industry, Indonesia has great potential to become a major player in the global cybersecurity industry.
