INTI- Pangkal Pinang - Sunindyo Suryo Herdadi, the Director of Technical and Environmental Affairs for Minerals and Coal (Minerba) at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), has urged mining company directors to actively participate and synergize with stakeholders, including mine workers, mining service companies, and the government. This collaboration aims to create a climate of good mining practice in Bangka Belitung.
"Good mining practice in Bangka Belitung can be achieved through strong commitment and synergy among stakeholders," stated Sunindyo during a discussion between the Directorate General of Minerba and mining company directors in the Bangka Belitung Province on Tuesday (June 7).
Sunindyo emphasized that mining company directors can contribute to this synergy by providing full support to their Chief Mining Engineers (KTT) regarding the planned work programs, ensuring the implementation of good mining practices, including mining safety management.
Sunindyo highlighted that mining safety management in the Bangka Belitung Province still needs improvement. Therefore, he invited mining stakeholders to collaborate and jointly implement the mining safety programs that have been established.
"Mine workers must be committed to carrying out their tasks in accordance with applicable standards, norms, and regulations, as safety in the workplace is not the responsibility of a single individual but of all personnel working within it. Meanwhile, the Mining Inspectorate, as a government agency, should provide guidance and supervision on the implementation of mining safety management, which is one of the obligations in achieving good mining practice," concluded Sunindyo.
Amir Syahbana, the Head of the Bangka Belitung Province's Energy and Mineral Resources Agency, who was also present at the event, expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, particularly the Directorate General of Minerba, for organizing the activity. He believed that this meeting would drive the implementation of good technical mining practices in the Bangka Belitung Province.
"The extensive management of mineral resources directly impacts regional economic growth. However, it also poses risks of work accidents and environmental degradation. Therefore, it is hoped that the implementation of good mining practice can be achieved through the joint responsibility of the central and regional governments, as well as mining industry players," he added.
During the discussion, Sunindyo and mining company directors in the Bangka Belitung Province also signed a joint commitment declaration as a concrete step towards realizing good mining practice. ***.Hans
