Ministry of Communication and Information Encourages Implementation of Three Values to Combat Online Gambling
Jakarta, INTI - The Ministry of Communication and Information continues its efforts to eradicate online gambling. Deputy Minister of Communication and Information Nezar Patria emphasized three values that the Ministry of Communication and Information applies in combating online gambling.
"The President's order is to eradicate online gambling. I only ask for three things: first, maintain integrity. Second, fulfill the entrusted task. And third, loyalty," he said at the Ministry of Communication and Information office in Central Jakarta, on Monday (22/04/2024).
According to Deputy Minister Nezar Patria, the development of online gambling practices is increasingly alarming because it victimizes the lower-income population.
"The turnover is Rp347 trillion per year, with victims being ordinary people such as housewives, truck drivers, motorcycle taxi drivers, and street food vendors. Their lives are destroyed due to addiction," he explained.
The Deputy Minister of Communication and Information appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Communication and Information community in handling the circulation of content and online gambling sites. Deputy Minister Nezar Patria also reminded not to stop in the fight against online gambling.
"We appreciate what has been done so far. I know the struggle against online gambling, and we all know that we can only block and take down. But we have greater power to hinder the development of online gambling," he emphasized.
The Ministry of Communication and Information continues to intensify efforts to combat online gambling, emphasizing the importance of maintaining integrity, fulfilling entrusted tasks, and loyalty in this endeavor.
