Jakarta, INTI - The development of the digital ecosystem and cyber security requires good governance. Simultaneously, the presence of talent or human resources also determines the strengthening and innovation of national cyber security.

Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi stated that the presence of competent cyber security talent is crucial.

"Moreover, until 2023, the world faces a shortage of 4 million cyber security professionals," he emphasized during the Inauguration of the Indosat-Mastercard Cybersecurity Centers of Excellence in Central Jakarta on Thursday (04/18/2024).

According to Minister Budi Arie, there is a specific need for cyber security talents with skills in Application Security Development, Cloud Computing Security, Identity & Access Management, and other related skills.

"I invite all industry players and related stakeholders to continue working together to produce high-quality cyber security human resources," he expressed.

The Ministry of Communication and Information reminds that holistic implementation of cyber security needs to be carried out by all parties. For the business world, cyber security implementation can provide protection from theft and data leaks.

"It can increase the trust of various stakeholders in our digital space, thereby driving investment. It can also help users establish stronger defense systems to anticipate future attack threats," he stated.

Minister Budi Arie appreciates the collaboration in establishing Cybersecurity Centers of Excellence focusing on capacity development, research, innovation, and industry collaboration in the cyber security sector.

"Hopefully, this initiative can inspire and encourage the creation of other innovators. Because together, we create a safe and productive digital space," he expressed.

The event was attended by President Director & CEO of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison Vikra Sinha, CEO of Mastercard Michael Miebach, and Vice Rector of Bandung Institute of Technology Gusti Ayu Putri Saptawati Soekidjo.
