Jakarta, INTI - McKinsey & Company and Google Cloud announced a strategic partnership to empower businesses to capitalize on the transformative power of generative AI (gen AI). This alliance leverages Gemini for Google Cloud, a suite of generative AI tools built on Google Cloud's infrastructure.

McKinsey's open ecosystem of leading gen AI innovators provides businesses with the expertise and solutions needed to adopt and scale this technology across their entire technology stack. This partnership strengthens this ecosystem, offering clients a comprehensive approach to gen AI implementation.

McKinsey has a proven track record of helping companies across various industries leverage Google Cloud's technology, including gen AI, to achieve significant results. For instance, a joint project developed a gen AI-powered search platform that drastically reduced maintenance times for a manufacturer. Additionally, a virtual agent was created to deliver personalized and immediate customer service in the banking industry.

Google Cloud stands out with its industry-leading cloud and AI technologies. Google's deep-rooted foundation in AI, combined with its exceptional engineering talent and AI frameworks, empowers businesses to transform their operations on a global scale. Their commitment to innovation and collaboration across Alphabet businesses allows them to tackle even the most complex challenges.

McKinsey contributes a vast pool of talent to the alliance. QuantumBlack, AI by McKinsey, McKinsey's gen AI arm, boasts 7,000 technologists, designers, and product managers serving clients globally. A significant portion of these professionals hold Google Cloud certifications, highlighting their commitment to the platform. Through extensive work with over 200 clients, McKinsey has identified the core elements necessary for organizational transformation through AI.

McKinsey estimates that gen AI and cloud technologies hold the potential to unlock over $4 trillion in value. This partnership focuses on helping clients capture this value through four key strategies:

  • Cloud-enabled business transformations
  • Tech modernization programs
  • Gen AI-enabled solutions
  • Industry-specific use cases

A prime example of this collaboration is the development of two gen AI chatbots for Formula E racing, completed in just weeks. These chatbots, powered by Vertex AI and Google Cloud's large language models, provided real-time car performance data, contributing to a world record for indoor land speed. Additionally, a "voice of the car" feature was created, offering fans a unique racing experience.

The alliance reflects both parties' dedication to delivering tangible value to clients. "This partnership underscores our belief in generative AI's potential and our commitment to leading the charge in unlocking its benefits for our clients," says Adrian Booth, leader of Build by McKinsey and the Google Cloud alliance.

This collaboration extends beyond a simple partnership. It represents a journey towards reshaping the landscape of business, innovation, and success through the power of generative AI.
