Jakarta, INTI - Indonesia now boasts an internationally standardized testing center for devices, the Indonesia Digital Test House (IDTH), managed by the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology. President Joko Widodo is optimistic that Indonesia will become a key player in the global technology supply chain.

"Of course, this requires courage and breakthroughs that we must make," he emphasized during the Inauguration of IDTH at the Telecommunication Device Testing Center (BBPPT) in Depok City, West Java Province, on Tuesday (05/07/2024).

Therefore, President Joko Widodo encourages IDTH to become an innovation hub to ensure that domestic digital device products can compete globally.

"By collaborating with universities, startups, and MSMEs, conducting research and patents, supporting the development of testing and certification of local products so that domestic digital device products can compete," he asserted.

IDTH is now equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to test various digital device features, such as telecommunications features, radio frequency (RF), Electro Magnetic Compatibility (EMC), electrical safety, and Specific Absorption Rate (SAR).

Minister of Communication and Information Technology, Budi Arie Setiadi, stated that IDTH facilities are comprehensive as a telecommunications device testing laboratory.

"These testing facilities function to ensure the safety, security, and standardization of digital device products. Tested devices include laptops, mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, access points, digital televisions, handy talkies, and radars," he explained.

Following President Joko Widodo's directive, Minister Budi Arie aims for IDTH to not only be a testing center but also to become a Center of Excellence for digital devices in Indonesia.

"It will facilitate collaboration among practitioners, experts, and researchers. It is expected to generate significant technological innovations," he concluded.
