Jakarta, INTI - The government has established the Vision of Indonesia Emas 2045, aiming to make Indonesia a sovereign, progressive, fair, and prosperous nation.
In the National Long-Term Development Plan 2025-2045, the government reaffirms its commitment to sustainable development through economic transformation involving digital transformation and the application of green economy.
Minister of Communication and Information Technology Budi Arie Setiadi stated that the Indonesia Digital Vision 2045 has been formulated to support the realization of Indonesia Emas 2045.
"At least in VID 2045, there are five strategic policies in the digital economy that are important to develop," he emphasized during the Green IMPACT Day - For Indonesia's Food, Water, and Energy Security, at the Sasana Budaya Ganesha, ITB Bandung, on Monday (29/04/2024).
Minister Budi Arie detailed these five policies, including firstly, encouraging research and development activities to bring about the effectiveness and efficiency of technology for digital economic players.
Secondly, optimizing research and innovation as solutions for local startups and strategic information access to support development.
Thirdly, enhancing brand protection for products produced and patent protection for technological inventions.
"Fourth, adopting digital technology in priority sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture, logistics, finance, and fifth, promoting funding and investment in the digital economy," he explained.
Quoting data from Google, Temasek, Bain & Company (2023), the Minister of Communication and Information mentioned that Indonesia's digital economy is projected to reach USD109 billion by 2025, an increase of 15% compared to 2023.
"One of the drivers is green economic transformation, which refers to the utilization of technology and science for environmentally friendly products and services," he emphasized.
Minister Budi Arie believes that AI-based green technology will also contribute to the global economy by 2030.
"It will have a 4.4% greater value compared to if AI is used for general businesses," he said.
Green Impact Day was held as part of the 25th Anniversary Celebration of Rakyat Merdeka, consisting of environmentally friendly energy talk shows, awards for the results of article writing competitions on energy and climate management, and the launch of the Green Youth Outlook 2024 Book and Green Agriculture for Indonesian Food Security.
Additionally, there was the launch of the Green Impact website, a platform that serves as an indicator of sustainability aspects, namely the development and research of green energy and green economy throughout Indonesia.
Minister Budi Arie also congratulated Rakyat Merdeka on its 25th anniversary.
"I hope Rakyat Merdeka can continue to contribute to the strong, inclusive, and environmentally friendly growth of Indonesia's digital economy," he expressed.
In attendance at the event were Minister of Environment and Forestry Siti Nurbaya, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry Bambang Hendroyono, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Dadan Kusdiana, CEO of Rakyat Merdeka Group Kiki Iswara Darmayana, and senior officials from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
