Jakarta, INTI - Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Anindya Bakrie, warmly welcomed the Ministry of Industry’s invitation to cooperate in revising the Industrial Law and formulating the "Indonesia Emas 2045" roadmap. He expressed Kadin's readiness to collaborate with the Ministry of Industry in this regard.
Previously, the Minister of Industry had met with the Chairman of Kadin at the Ministry’s office. During the meeting, both parties expressed hope for a close collaboration to build Indonesia’s future manufacturing industry.
In the discussion between the Minister of Industry and Kadin, several issues were raised, including policies from other ministries/institutions related to imports that affect industrial growth, opportunities for Indonesia’s halal industry to capture domestic and export markets, efforts to provide affordable gas for the domestic ceramics industry under the Certain Natural Gas Price (HGBT) policy, and plans to relocate import ports to Eastern Indonesia as proposed by the Ministry of Industry to boost the local shipbuilding industry and enhance competitiveness.
Additionally, Kadin emphasized the importance of encouraging collaboration not only between the private sector and the government but also with academia to develop a comprehensive industrial ecosystem. This synergy will help address future challenges faced by Indonesia’s manufacturing industry, including the acceleration of digital transformation, sustainable energy sources, and green economy initiatives.
