Jakarta, INTI - Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investment Coordination (Menko Marves) Luhut B. Pandjaitan assures that Microsoft will not regret investing in Indonesia. He made this statement while attending 'Microsoft Build: AI Day' on Tuesday (30/4/2024) at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC).
"I believe if you (Microsoft) invest in Indonesia, you won't regret it. I promise. Because all the incentives you can get anywhere else, you can get them here," Luhut said in his opening speech.
Furthermore, at the event attended by Microsoft Asia President Ahmed Mazhari, Minister Luhut explained that he has coordinated with President Jokowi regarding this collaboration.
"I told the President, send your team (Microsoft) to visit us, and we can discuss the details of your investment in Indonesia, and we are happy to accommodate it, with various incentives received by Microsoft in India, Thailand, and other countries," he said.
"We can offer better than others. So we are ready to welcome your team, anytime, next week, or whenever. So this is Indonesia, and we warmly welcome Microsoft, and you can use this opportunity to invest in Indonesia," added Minister Luhut.
It is known that Microsoft has announced its commitment to invest USD 1.7 billion or equivalent to Rp27.6 trillion in Indonesia. This fund is focused on the development of cloud and AI (Artificial Intelligence) infrastructure for the next four years.
