INTI,- Indonesia's Pavilion at the Hannover Messe 2023 Exhibition has drawn the attention of visitors with its 3000 m² area showcasing various technological developments in Indonesia, particularly in the application of Industry 4.0 in the manufacturing sector.

One of the highlights of the pavilion is the showcase of the Pneumatic Technology Angklung, a work of the nation's children led by Darwis Nasution (programmer) and composer Ari Parikesit, in collaboration with PT. Festo Indonesia.

The development of this pneumatic technology angklung has been underway since 2020, using automation technology, fast switching solenoids, fluidic muscles DMSP, toothed belt axes with recirculation ball bearings, and motor controllers. The DMSP fluidic muscle is a pull actuator that mimics the natural movement of muscles, consisting of a contractile tube and corresponding connector, enabling it to produce movements like those of an angklung player.

When internal pressure (pneumatic from a compressor) is applied, the tubular sheath expands in a circular direction with fast switching solenoids, allowing for precise control of the timing of process sequences.

At the opening of the Indonesian Pavilion, this modern angklung played the songs "Tanah Airku" and "Manuk Dadali" in front of Indonesian President Joko Widodo and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. On the occasion, the Director-General of the Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment, and Electronics Industry (ILMATE) Taufiek Bawazier stressed that the government is committed to continuing to promote the application of Industry 4.0 in the manufacturing sector in line with the Making Indonesia 4.0 roadmap initiated by the Ministry of Industry. "Technological applications like the angklung are proof that the national industry and its human resources are capable of competing in the global market," he said.

PT. Festo Indonesia is one of the co-exhibitors who are important partners in the Making Indonesia 4.0 program, particularly in developing SDM competencies. Together with the Ministry of Industry, Festo has developed and implemented a qualification program to become an Industry 4.0 Transformation Expert, which has successfully trained and certified 160 people from various industries.

In 2023, it is planned to conduct training for 400 people from the national manufacturing industry. The Ministry of Industry has also established a Cyber Physical Laboratory at the Denpasar Industrial Training Center (BDI) for the education and training of Indonesian professional personnel.

"The government and domestic companies have realized that they can only compete in the global market if they have quality workers," explained Hartono Indra, General Manager of PT Festo Indonesia. Additionally, teacher qualifications in polytechnics and vocational schools play a key role in preparing training participants and students for Industry 4.0.

PT. Festo Indonesia, along with the Ministry of Industry, is running a newly developed training program for teachers to become "Industry 4.0 Transformation Managers", which is increasingly in demand by teachers.

On Monday, April 17, 2023, in Hannover, Germany, a cooperation agreement was signed in the field of "Learning System and Medical Grade Ventilator Development" between PT. Stechoq Robotika Indonesia Director Malik Khaidir and PT. Festo General Manager Hartono Indra.

This MoU is intended to establish technical cooperation to strengthen business relationships and collaborate in technical cooperation to enhance trade as well as economic, industrial, and scientific-technical cooperation, particularly in the development of learning systems and medical-grade ventilators between Indonesia and Germany.
