INTI,- Indonesia's aerospace industry has been identified as one of the sectors with significant potential in driving the country's economic growth. The focus of its development includes propeller aircraft, aircraft component manufacturing, and Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) industries.

The Ministry of Industry has played a critical role in enhancing the competitiveness of the aerospace industry, including the MRO sector. One of its efforts is facilitating participation in domestic and international exhibitions and business matching events. This was highlighted by the Director-General of Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment, and Electronics Industries (ILMATE) at the Ministry of Industry, Taufiek Bawazier, during his visit to Hannover, Germany, on April 20, 2023.

ILMATE has also facilitated the participation of Indonesia's MRO industry in the prestigious international exhibition, Hannover Messe 2023, in collaboration with PT Garuda Maintenance Facility (GMF) and FL Technics Indonesia, both members of the Indonesian Aircraft Maintenance Service Association (IAMSA). The event will showcase the latest aircraft maintenance solutions from the two companies.

Through this support, Indonesia's MRO industry is expected to gain more recognition in the global industrial services market. The promotion of domestic industry products at Hannover Messe will also strengthen the brand image of GMF Aero Asia and FL Technic as major players in Indonesia's MRO industry. This collaborative effort is expected to advance and develop the national MRO industry and contribute positively to Indonesia's overall economic growth.

As the government has launched the Making Indonesia 4.0 roadmap, the MRO industry is expected to implement digital technologies such as artificial intelligence and the internet of things in its industrial ecosystem. To accelerate this digital transformation, the government is simultaneously providing various fiscal incentives such as tax holidays, tax allowances, and super tax deductions. Non-fiscal incentives such as industrial zone development and management, integrated electronic licensing systems, technical guidance for meeting industry standards, and certification of domestic content levels are also provided.

GMF AeroAsia's CEO, Andi Fahrurrozi, believes that Hannover Messe is an ideal platform to expand its international market coverage. He added that the diversification of its business will benefit greatly from this collaboration with foreign partners. The company showcased XPream, an integrated application that provides real-time data to streamline project monitoring and activities from start to finish. This digital innovation also presents data-based insights that help customers prevent operational delays.

FL Technics Indonesia presented its latest and best aircraft maintenance solutions for various types of aircraft. The company aims to demonstrate that it is present in Indonesia and ready to support potential customers worldwide, including the Asia-Pacific region.

The participation of Indonesia's MRO industry in Hannover Messe 2023 will contribute significantly to the promotion of the industry and the country's economic growth. It is also an opportunity to showcase Indonesia's MRO capabilities and attract potential investors and customers. The collaboration between PT GMF and FL Technics Indonesia highlights the importance of partnerships and collaboration in advancing the national MRO industry. With the support of the government and the private sector, Indonesia's aerospace industry is poised for growth and success. *** Hans
