INTI,- The 42nd ASEAN Summit is providing Indonesia with an opportunity to display its economic development, particularly in the telecommunications sector. Communication and Information Minister Johnny G. Plate stated that the summit will offer direct exposure to national digital transformation to the attending ASEAN leaders.

During a media gathering at the Network Operation Center of PT. Telkom Indonesia in Labuan Bajo, Manggarai Barat, Nusa Tenggara Timur on Wednesday, Plate said that despite being a new development, Labuan Bajo was selected to showcase Indonesia’s success to the international community.

Plate, along with PT Telkom Indonesia, intends to display the national digital performance, which includes the development of fiber optic networks, backbones, Telkom Sat satellites, and Base Transceiver Stations. The minister emphasized that the infrastructure would demonstrate Indonesia's readiness to support the community's migration to the digital realm and the importance of digital space for Indonesia's economic interests.

According to Plate, the infrastructure's presence will set an example for Indonesia's preparedness in supporting the dissemination of information about the 42nd ASEAN Summit. The transmission of information from the summit's proceedings will reach the public quickly if the digital infrastructure is ready.

The media gathering, which took place from May 2-3, 2023, was attended by 59 journalists, including 20 national media editors, 8 local media editors, 17 national media reporters, and 9 local media reporters. ***. Hans
