Jakarta, INTI – The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) technology has garnered global attention, with many countries preparing policies and nurturing talent to integrate AI across various sectors. Indonesian Minister of Communication and Information Technology, Budi Arie Setiadi, underscores the importance of human-centric AI development.

"Last week, I was in Switzerland. Together, we campaigned for AI that is Pro People and humanity," he stated during the 10th Anniversary Celebration of IDN Times at IDN Media HQ in Setiabudi, South Jakarta, on Thursday (June 6, 2024).

The campaign for human-centric AI is an initiative aimed at promoting the use and development of AI technologies that consider human welfare, human values, and human rights. The biggest challenges currently associated with the increasing use of AI technology include information bias and misuse. Therefore, Minister Budi Arie calls on media, including IDN Times, to adopt AI technology to enhance productivity.

"This is the era of AI, Artificial Intelligence. In today's digital age, media must be able to address existing challenges," he emphasized.

According to the Minister, the implementation of AI technology has the potential to bring significant changes to various aspects of human life. Besides adopting AI technology, the media also plays a crucial role in educating the public on how to utilize AI optimally.

"In the digital era, media must be able to respond to new challenges and opportunities, and provide accurate and beneficial information to the public," he added.

Minister Budi Arie stated that the media must also adapt to all changes occurring now and in the future.

"Happy 10th Anniversary to IDN. I hope that at the age of 10, IDN Times will become more progressive, more visionary, and more resilient to the changes of the times," he expressed.

The event was also attended by Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan, and Founder and CEO of IDN Media Winston Utomo.
