INTI,- The Ministry of Industry is facilitating a number of Indonesian industrial players to participate in the prestigious international exhibition, Hannover Messe 2023. This effort is not only aimed at introducing technological advantages, but also opening up opportunities for cooperation between Indonesian and German companies.
"One example of cooperation is the joint venture between local industry PT. Yogya Presisi Teknikatama and German company Toolcraft AG," said Director General of Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment, and Electronics Industry (ILMATE) at the Ministry of Industry, Taufiek Bawazier, in Hannover, Germany on Wednesday (19/4) local time.
The two companies will work together to develop Metal Additive Manufacturing technology to meet the needs of other industrial sectors. It is hoped that through this collaboration, the domestic industry will become more productive and competitive.
Metal Additive Manufacturing technology includes Laser Metal Deposition (LMD) and Laser Metal Fusion (LMF) processes. This technology is also increasingly used to support the manufacture of complex and precise mechanical components, such as in the automotive, aircraft, mold and die, and medical equipment industries.
Acting Director of the Machinery Industry and Agricultural Machinery at the Ministry of Industry, Yan Sibarang Tandiele, stated that the government supports cooperation between local industries and those in Germany, including those related to technology transfer based on high-tech products, such as what PT. YPTI and Toolcraft AG are doing.
Meanwhile, PT. YPTI Director Petrus Tedja Hapsoro stated that technology transfer will also be carried out in the field of robotics and automation through the joint venture. PT. YPTI has been opening and building cooperation with Toolcraft AG since 1999, especially in improving competencies and developing technology, where one of the main factors is the development of human resources.
"To support this cooperation, PT. YPTI collaborates with ATMI Surakarta Polytechnic to prepare competent human resources through an internship program for students and lecturers, so they can follow the latest developments in the manufacturing industry," he said.
Development of New and Renewable Energy
On the same occasion, Director General of ILMATE emphasized that the Indonesian Government is committed to maintaining environmental sustainability as seen from a number of concrete actions that have been taken in improving the environment and efforts to implement energy transition.
"As stated by the President at Hannover Messe, Indonesia targets 23 percent of energy sources to come from new and renewable energy (EBT) in 2025, and plans to start closing all coal-fired steam power plants in 2050. He also wants to ensure that the energy transition produces affordable energy for our people," explained Taufiek.
One company in the field of EBT participating as a co-exhibitor is PT Giwang Kanaka. The company partners with SFC Energy Germany, showcasing environmentally friendly electricity solutions using Hydrogen Fuel Cell technology that can be applied in various industrial sectors.
This technology produces clean energy, so it can replace fossil fuels commonly used in power plants. In addition, an air quality monitoring device is displayed, with its electricity source using fuel cell technology fueled by methanol. This air quality monitoring device is produced and developed by experts from Indonesia.
Indonesia's commitment to environmental sustainability and energy transition is commendable, and the participation of Indonesian industrial players in Hannover Messe 2023 is an opportunity to showcase the potential of Indonesian technology and forge cooperation with international partners. Through collaborations like the one between PT. YPTI and Toolcraft AG, Indonesia's domestic industry can continue to develop and compete on a global scale. ***Hans
