Penajam Paser Utara, INTI – The Indonesian government has announced plans to construct a National Data Center (PDN) in the new capital city, Nusantara. Minister of Communication and Informatics, Budi Arie Setiadi, emphasized the critical role of the state-owned electricity company, PLN, in providing the necessary electrical infrastructure to support the PDN's operations, which are essential for implementing the Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE).
"The presence of the PLN Hub will significantly facilitate the operation of the National Data Center in Nusantara," Budi Arie stated to the media prior to the groundbreaking ceremony of the PLN Hub in Nusantara, Penajam Paser Utara, East Kalimantan, on Wednesday, June 5, 2024.
Minister Budi Arie explained that the PLN Hub will integrate the entire electricity ecosystem of Nusantara, supporting telecommunications and digital infrastructure.
"Today, we inaugurate the PLN Hub, which will integrate the entire electricity ecosystem in Nusantara, including the realization of telecommunications and digital infrastructure," he noted.
The Minister appreciated PLN's efforts in developing the infrastructure for the PDN in Nusantara.
"A data center requires reliable electricity, making this a significant support for the National Data Center infrastructure in Nusantara," he affirmed.
PLN President Director, Darmawan Prasodjo, highlighted that the electricity ecosystem in Nusantara would be based on renewable energy supported by intelligent systems.
"One of our tasks is to build an electricity ecosystem that is smart, green, and also beautiful. So this is a renewable energy ecosystem," he explained.
Darmawan Prasodjo reiterated PLN's readiness to provide reliable and environmentally friendly electrical infrastructure for the PDN.
"PLN is ready to supply highly reliable and environmentally friendly electricity," he concluded.
