Jakarta, INTI - Increased cooperation in the development of industrial Human Resources (HR) is one of Indonesia's targets at the Hannover Messe 2024 event. At the world's largest industrial exhibition held from April 22-26, 2024, the Indonesian Pavilion presented a Business Forum focusing on supporting digital transformation in the era of Industry 4.0, particularly from the perspective of HR.

"The organization of the Business Forum on industrial HR is expected to enhance future collaborations to achieve our vision and expand business opportunities for economic growth," said Masrokhan, Head of the Industrial Human Resources Development Agency at the Ministry of Industry, during his keynote speech at the Indonesia Pavilion, Hannover Messe, on Thursday (25/4) local time.

Through the Digital Industry Center (PIDI 4.0), the BPSDMI conducted the Business Forum on topics related to Industry 4.0, featuring speakers from the Capital City Authority of Nusantara, FESTO, Amazon Web Services (AWS) as PIDI 4.0 partners, and TechnoGIS as an Indonesian company participating in the event.

PIDI 4.0 is a realization of the priority roadmap of Making Indonesia 4.0 launched by President Joko Widodo in 2018. This facility is built to assist industries in Indonesia in transitioning to Industry 4.0. Currently, PIDI 4.0 has 48 national and international partners consisting of industrial companies, associations, educational institutions, and other stakeholders.

The PIDI 4.0 ecosystem accelerates the digital transformation process in Indonesia through technology adoption and enhancing Industry 4.0 competencies for industrial HR. Efforts to enhance Industry 4.0 competencies for industrial HR include various training sessions, seminars, and workshops related to skills supporting Industry 4.0 organized by PIDI 4.0, such as big data, artificial intelligence, robotics, and the Internet of Things (IoT).

The Ministry of Industry also enhances Industry 4.0 HR through its vocational education and training units, comprising nine vocational high schools (SMK), 11 polytechnics, two community academies, and seven industrial training centers spread across various regions in Indonesia.

The improvement of Industry 4.0 HR through PIDI 4.0 and the BPSDMI units of the Ministry of Industry becomes a significant attraction in the business matchmaking and networking at the Hannover Messe 2024. "Discussions in the Business Forum demonstrate how the industry has taken important steps in supporting digital transformation in the era of Industry 4.0," said Masrokhan.

During the business forum event, the Head of BPSDMI held bilateral discussions with IFM, a partner of PIDI 4.0. IFM is a smart technology company based in Germany with branches in Indonesia. IFM, which also has a branch in Indonesia, presented plans for collaborative programs and activities with BPSDMI through PIDI 4.0 by replicating the cooperation between BPSDMI and FESTO.

Moreover, the Head of BPSDMI also held bilateral meetings with Solinatra and will follow up on proposals for cooperation in the development of industrial HR and digital transformation focusing on sustainability and green industry. In support of these plans, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Switzerland and Liechtenstein also proposed cooperation in vocational education and training.
