Jakarta, INTI - Indonesia, with its stunning natural beauty and abundant human resources, holds immense potential for progress. Minister of Communication and Information Technology, Budi Arie Setiadi, urges the nation's youth to embrace optimism in their pursuit of realizing Indonesia's Golden Era by 2045.

"Our population consists of 26 percent millennials, 28 percent Gen-Z, and 11 percent children, totaling 65 percent, nearly two-thirds of our population is young. If we don't progress, it's nobody's fault but our own! That's why optimism is crucial," he emphasized during a visit to the Office of PT Ajaib Teknologi Indonesia (Ajaib) at the Indonesia Stock Exchange Building, South Jakarta, on Monday (13/05/2024).

Quoting President Joko Widodo, Minister Budi Arie stresses that Indonesia currently possesses a significant asset with a large number of young human resources.

"Why should we be optimistic? Because President Jokowi has repeatedly stated, this is our once-in-a-lifetime opportunity in Indonesia. In the world, our chance to become a developed country is now," he emphasized.

According to the Minister, the youth are still in prime health condition, making them the primary human resource capital needed for Indonesia's advancement.

"While we are still healthy, let's stay enthusiastic because Indonesia's progress depends heavily on human resources like yourselves," he added.

Minister Budi Arie stated that Indonesia's human resource potential has attracted the interest of major technology companies such as Apple and Microsoft to invest in the country. Therefore, the Ministry urges all parties to prepare for the changes brought about by the rapid development of technology.

"There are indeed many leaps and bounds that we need to anticipate together," he said.

The Minister emphasized that the younger generation needs to familiarize themselves with various emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), which has the potential to replace numerous human professions.

"Doctors replaced by AI, accountants replaced by AI, what profession won't be replaced by AI?" he questioned.

During the visit, Minister Budi Arie was accompanied by the Director-General of Informatics Application of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Semuel Abrijani Pangerapan, and the Minister's Special Staff, Sugiharto.
