Dunia Virtual Online (DVO) to Invest Rp 1 Trillion in Data Center Development within Five Years

INTI,- Dunia Virtual Online (DVO), a data center solutions provider known as AREA 31, is optimistic about investing Rp 1 trillion in data center development within the next five years. The data center building, located in Cimanggis, Depok, West Java, has completed the first phase of construction with a capacity of 600 racks. Once the first phase is fully occupied, the second phase with another 600 racks will be built, aiming to reach 1200 fully occupied racks in the near future. If these two phases are filled, the third phase will be built.

"When the existing capacity becomes increasingly full, we will build more. In five years, I am optimistic that we can achieve Rp 1 trillion. Because the demand for data centers is increasing and the external demand is also increasing. The data center market in Indonesia is very large, so we hope to take a share of this market," said Sales and Marketing Director of PT Dunia Virtual Online (DVO), Yoke Tangkar in Cimanggis, Depok, West Java on Wednesday (12/5/2023).

According to Yoke, DVO has been in the data center business since 2002, but they used to rent buildings to place their data center racks. This new data center facility was inaugurated in January 2023, allowing DVO to own their own facility with a larger capacity than before.

Yoke also explained that the new AREA 31 data center has obtained certification from the EPI certification agency for RATED 3 Facilities, making it the first data center in ASEAN to achieve ISO 22237 certification. "This certification shows that AREA 31 has met high requirements, creating reliable, efficient, and secure data center infrastructure. In this digital era, data centers are crucial to business continuity and the main pillar of digital transformation in Indonesia. Hopefully, AREA 31 can continue to grow and provide high-quality services to its customers," explained Yoke.

In addition, Yoke stated that the government, financial industry, online gaming, and e-commerce sectors are the target markets of the AREA 31 data center. However, the government and financial industries will be the primary targets.

"We are pursuing Rated 3 because this is the minimum requirement that can be accepted by the financial industry. That is the main requirement. Other than that, online gaming and e-commerce will also be our target markets. But our main target is the financial industry and government. Security is our main strength at Area 31. Security is the main advantage that we offer," Yoke emphasized.

In terms of electricity, AREA 31 currently has a capacity of 10 MW, which can be increased to 25 MW. "And this already exceeds our old data center capacity, increasing nearly 20 times," said Yoke.

Furthermore, AREA 31 has completed the construction of the first phase of four data wholes, each with a capacity of 150 racks, totaling 600 racks. "When it's full, we'll build another 600 racks. So there will be 1200 racks for phases 1 and 2. We had the opening ceremony on January 31, 2023, so from then until now, it's been five months, but thankfully we've almost filled one data whole with 150 racks, which is almost 60% occupied. So if everything goes optimistically, hopefully, it will be fully occupied within five years," added Yoke. ***.Hans
