INTI- Minister Luhut B. Pandjaitan, the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves), attended the Indonesia Net-Zero Summit 2023 and delivered a keynote speech on "Climate Ambitions to Achieve Indonesia Emas 2045" (Golden Indonesia 2045).

Menko Luhut stated that the Indonesian government has implemented various policies and demonstrated concrete commitments in addressing climate change issues over the past 2-3 years. These efforts involve active international cooperation in creating platforms for decarbonization and energy transition, including Indonesia's participation in the Just Energy Transition Program (JETP).

Indonesia is committed to driving economic growth while pursuing decarbonization towards achieving net-zero emissions. Menko Luhut explained that there are five key pillars that Indonesia will focus on to achieve these goals: industrialization, digitalization, economic distribution, decarbonization, and interconnection.

One of the tangible efforts currently being undertaken is the promotion of the transition to Battery Electric Motor Vehicles (BEMVs) and the development of related industries. Additionally, Indonesia possesses significant potential as a carbon storage hub with ample capacity.

All these indicators demonstrate that Indonesia is on the right track to becoming a developed nation. The implemented strategies are expected to enhance sustainable and equitable economic growth.

"Indonesia has abundant natural resources and plays a vital role in the global economy. Therefore, we strongly support international cooperation that synergizes economic development with decarbonization," stated Menko Luhut during the conclusion of his speech.

With the commitment and actions taken, Indonesia continues to progress in addressing the challenges of climate change and pursuing sustainable economic development. Indonesia is ready to actively participate in international cooperation to achieve shared goals towards a greener and more sustainable future. ***.Hans
