Jakarta, WISATA - The development of the Industry 4.0 ecosystem continues to be a major focus in supporting the implementation of Making Indonesia 4.0, an initiative designed to strengthen Indonesia's industrial competitiveness on the global stage. In a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) titled Development of Smart Machine & Robotics Ecosystem to Accelerate Industry Revolution 4.0, held in Jakarta, Yan Sibarang Tandiele, Director of Machinery and Agricultural Machinery Industry at the Ministry of Industry, emphasized the importance of adopting technology and innovation to drive industrial growth.
Indonesia's continued economic growth amidst global challenges, according to Yan, is a result of consistent efforts to develop a technology-based industrial ecosystem. In his presentation, Yan explained that strategic steps such as developing digital infrastructure, improving the quality of human resources, and enhancing collaboration between the government and the private sector are crucial in supporting industrial transformation.
"During the first and second quarters of 2024, we have observed an increase in business activities in the industrial sector, with the PMI manufacturing index from several of Indonesia's key trading partners remaining in the expansion zone," Yan stated. "This indicates that Indonesia's industrial ecosystem has successfully navigated various global challenges and continues to grow positively."
Furthermore, Yan highlighted that the Inti Root exhibition, which is part of the Indonesia Technology and Innovation (INTI 2024) event, serves as an important platform to encourage collaboration between industry players and technology providers. As Indonesia's largest B2B exhibition focused on technology, INTI 2024 hosts more than 700 exhibitors from various industrial sectors, offering significant opportunities for Indonesian companies to accelerate the adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies.
"INTI 2024 is not just a technology exhibition; it is a strategic forum where stakeholders can discuss and establish partnerships that support digital transformation in Indonesia," Yan added.
The event is organized in collaboration with the Indonesian Industrial Robotics Association (ASRII), reflecting a shared commitment to fostering innovation and advancing the robotics ecosystem in the country. This collaboration ensures that the event not only showcases the latest technological advancements but also facilitates meaningful interactions between industry professionals, government officials, and academic institutions.
With initiatives like Making Indonesia 4.0 and support from various stakeholders, Indonesia is on the right track to becoming a major player in the ongoing global industrial revolution.
