Jakarta, INTI - In an era of rapidly advancing digitalization, the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kementerian Kominfo) continues to drive innovation through its annual competition, the Innovation of Frequency and Standardization Festival (IFAS FEST) 2024. With the theme "Collaboration," this event aims to create transformative innovations that address today's technological challenges.
Encouragement from the Minister of Communication and Information Technology for Innovation
Minister of Communication and Information Technology, Budi Arie Setiadi, emphasized the importance of innovation amid the massive wave of digitalization. In his speech at the opening of IFAS FEST 2024 at Danareksa Building, Central Jakarta on Thursday, July 18, 2024, Minister Budi Arie appreciated the 407 innovative works from employees of the Directorate General of Resources and Equipment for Post and Informatics (Ditjen SDPPI) from across Indonesia.
"Through the theme of collaboration, this seventh IFAS FEST aims to continue generating transformative innovations, especially in addressing various technological development challenges," said Budi Arie. He also congratulated the winners of the SDPPI Choice Award for their outstanding performance in their duties.
Enhancing Performance and Kominfo Branding
Minister Budi Arie hopes that the annual IFAS FEST, which began in 2018, will have a tangible impact on employee performance, institutional performance, and the strengthening of Kominfo's branding. "Together, we strengthen innovation to bring about a more connected, more digital, more advanced Indonesia," he emphasized.
The Philosophy of Collaboration
The Director General of SDPPI at the Ministry of Kominfo, Ismail, explained the philosophy of the IFAS FEST 2024 theme, "Collaboration," which consists of three words: collaboration, action, and synergy. "Our environment is very dynamic and requires creativity that we cannot solve alone," he said.
Over the past five months, Ditjen SDPPI employees from all work units and technical implementation units in 36 provinces across Indonesia have participated in various competitions such as SDPPI Idea, SDPPI Choice Awards, SDPPI Creator, and E-Sports competitions. Dirjen Ismail emphasized that the ideas generated must be followed by concrete actions, producing beneficial outputs and outcomes.
Contribution and Efficiency
Hundreds of innovative ideas from Ditjen SDPPI employees are believed to add value to efficiency in carrying out the task of managing frequencies throughout Indonesia. "How to make work processes more efficient, create new tools, increase domestic content, and utilize technology that was previously unimaginable. With these breakthrough ideas, we can utilize them well," explained Dirjen Ismail.
The Ditjen SDPPI team also plays a crucial role in safeguarding radio frequency spectrum from interference, including during national events such as the August 17th ceremony at the National Capital (IKN). "The team is already on the ground, collaborating with BSSN, the Police, and the TNI to clear the entire frequency spectrum from possible interference," he added.
