CBRS: A High-Quality Spectrum Solution for Supporting FWA Networks in the BEAD Initiative

Jakarta, INTI - Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) technology has proven to be a flexible and efficient solution for expanding internet access in underserved areas. However, the successful implementation of FWA relies on high-quality spectrum. This is where Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) plays a critical role, emerging as the primary choice for service providers to support the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) project, which aims to connect millions of people in rural and historically underserved regions.

What is CBRS, and Why is it Important for FWA?
CBRS is a frequency spectrum in the 3.5 GHz range developed by the U.S. government to expand wireless internet use in limited areas. CBRS offers higher quality than other frequency bands like 5 GHz or 6 GHz due to its superior penetration capabilities, ensuring stable connectivity even in densely populated areas with physical obstructions.
