Jakarta, INTI - The Bali International Airshow 2024 marks Indonesia's return to the global aviation stage after nearly three decades. The event aims to position the nation at the forefront of the global aerospace and defense industries, showcasing its ability to innovate and collaborate on a global scale.
With participants from 48 countries and 100 corporations, the airshow highlights Indonesia's growing presence in the Asia-Pacific region, as it seeks to become a regional hub for aerospace technology and defense collaborations. International aviation giants, including Airbus, Boeing, Bell Helicopters, Dassault Aviation, and PT Dirgantara Indonesia, are all showcasing their cutting-edge technologies, underscoring Indonesia’s ambition to push its aviation sector forward.
Andy Wismarsyah, CEO of PT Inaro Tujuh Belas, noted the significance of the event, stating, "This airshow marks a transformative period for Indonesia’s aviation industry. From local advancements in aircraft production to innovative defense systems, we are positioning ourselves as a competitive hub for aerospace activities." His comments were echoed by industry leaders who see Indonesia as a rising star in the global aerospace market.
This airshow also plays a crucial role in boosting sustainable aviation practices. The Asia Pacific Air Transport Forum 2024, held during the event, focuses on sustainable solutions, including the expansion of Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) and advanced air mobility technologies. Minister Luhut outlined Indonesia’s roadmap for achieving Net Zero Aviation by 2050, a goal that sets the country on a green trajectory within the global aerospace industry.
The Bali International Airshow is not just about technology; it also highlights Indonesia’s elite aerobatic teams, with performances from the Jupiter Aerobatic Team and the Neptune Aerobatic Team, showcasing their prowess in the skies of Bali.
