ASEAN Leaders Enjoy the Beauty of Nusa Tenggara Timur with President Jokowi and Ibu Iriana
INTI,- After a series of meetings at the 42nd ASEAN Summit, President Joko Widodo and Ibu Iriana Joko Widodo invited ASEAN leaders and their entourage to enjoy the beauty of Nusa Tenggara Timur on Wednesday (10/05/2023). From Marina Labuan Bajo, Manggarai Barat, the ASEAN leaders boarded a traditional pinisi boat.
On the deck of the boat, the ASEAN leaders and their entourage were seen sitting in a circle on rattan chairs, with a long wooden table in the middle. President Jokowi and Ibu Iriana sat in the middle. On President Jokowi's right sat Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, while on Ibu Iriana's left sat the wife of the Malaysian Prime Minister, Ibu Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
At 5:05 PM local time, the boat set sail, with the warm sunset adding to the lively conversation among the leaders. While enjoying refreshing drinks, the leaders engaged in friendly discussions. President Jokowi also shared and promoted Labuan Bajo's tourist destinations.
"There are many beautiful tourist spots in Labuan Bajo, such as Rinca Island, Komodo National Park, Padar Island, and Batu Cermin Cave," said President Jokowi.
"Labuan Bajo is also a great place for diving and snorkeling," he added.
The Indonesian culture was also introduced through the Sasando music played during the President's journey with the ASEAN leaders on the Lako Di'a boat that afternoon.
After sailing for approximately an hour, the pinisi boat docked again at Marina Labuan Bajo. This event demonstrated the hospitality and beauty of Indonesia as a host country for the ASEAN Summit. ***.Hans
