Jakarta, INTI - Minister of Communication and Informatics Budi Arie Setiadi, alongside Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Erick Thohir, officially inaugurated the Antara Heritage Center (AHC). During the event, Minister Budi Arie emphasized President Joko Widodo's directive to use the inauguration as a springboard for advancing the national media industry.

"According to President Jokowi's mandate, Antara must ensure that its history doesn't remain merely a memorial. It should give us the confidence to move forward as the media industry and the digital ecosystem rapidly evolve. I am confident that Antara can adapt to all developments and advancements," stated Minister Budi Arie during the AHC inauguration at the National News Agency Antara's headquarters in Pasar Baru, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday, May 14, 2024.

Minister Budi Arie expressed his hope that LKBN Antara would continue to inspire and motivate the public with high-quality news and information.

"We hope that Antara continues to inspire society by providing information that helps us realize the vision of a progressive Indonesia," he said.

The Minister praised the inauguration of AHC as a significant historical legacy, noting that Antara has been in existence since 1937. Founded by Adam Malik, Soemanang, A.M. Sipahoetar, and Pandoe Kartawigoena, LKBN Antara has made many positive contributions to the nation, especially during the pivotal moment of Indonesia's independence on August 17, 1945.

In light of the upcoming National Awakening Day on May 20, 2024, Minister Budi Arie urged LKBN Antara to play an active role in fostering the spirit of National Awakening towards Indonesia's Golden Era in 2045.

"This is Antara's task: to continually provide encouragement, motivation, and understanding to the public that the right time for Indonesia to progress is in 2045, with full support and efforts from society," he explained.

The event was attended by several prominent figures, including Director General of Public Information and Communication of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics Usman Kansong, U.S. Ambassador to ASEAN Yohanes Abraham, Director of Information and Media at the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Hartoyo Harkomoyo, President Director of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Anggoro Eko Cahyo, Chief of the Communication Department Group at Bank Indonesia Fadjar Majardi, and Head of Social Affairs and Community Empowerment at Istiqlal Mosque Ismail Cawidu.
